Our Focus:
The LWVCM Women’s Healthcare and Reproductive Rights Action Team’s purpose is to educate our members and community and to advocate for comprehensive women’s healthcare across the lifespan, including reproductive rights.
Each month we will highlight an important healthcare issues that many League and community members will find useful. Our strategy will include offering informative articles about women’s health and reproductive rights, offering engaging healthcare presentations by community experts, and informing our community of the importance of healthcare education and advocacy.
This Month:
This month we are focusing on Chronic Illness in recognition that 38% of women in the U.S. experience at least one chronic health condition.
“Women in the United States experience a higher prevalence of many
chronic conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and
osteoporosis, than men; they also experience female-specific
conditions, such as endometriosis and pelvic floor disorders.”
