Women’s rights include economic equality, political equality, legal/judicial equality, health care equality, and freedom from: gender bias/misogyny, gender-based violence, and racism as a multiplier of inequality.

During LWVUS' 2024 National Convention in Washington DC, a resolution in support of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), an international treaty concerning the rights of women and girls, was passed with 99% support from the convention delegates, committing LWVUS’ continuing support for the CEDAW framework at the local, state, and national levels. The League of Women Voters of North Carolina was proud to serve as a co-sponsor of the resolution.
