Reproductive Rights

The National League of Women Voters has taken the position that not only is the right to a safe and legal abortion a matter of personal freedom, it’s also a major factor in the movements for racial and economic equality.

The League adopted this Position on Public Policy on Reproductive Choices in January 1983:

The League of Women Voters of the United States believes that public policy in a pluralistic society must affirm the constitutional right of privacy of the individual to make reproductive choices.

The North Carolina League of Women Voters provides updates on the status of LWV activities regarding reproductive rights in NC.
