“Equity Impact: How Will the CMS Revised Comprehensive Plan Improve Educational Opportunities for ALL Students”
The LWVCM will hold a second hybrid meeting related to the CMS Comprehensive Plan on January 26, 2023. The CMS Staff—Dennis LaCaria, Facilities Consultant; Dr. Claire Schuch, Director of Planning Services; and Walter Hall, Director of Magnet Programs—valued the input of participants during the November meeting and are eager to engage about the revised plan. The goal of the meeting is to allow community members to learn how the revised plan addresses issues of Equality (what facilities conditions/educational environment need to be in place for ALL kids) AND Equity (using facilities changes, adding/strengthening magnet programs, and making changes in student assignments) to support currently low-performing schools.
Aggregated feedback to the CMS Comprehensive Plan thus far can be found
here
.
The L
WVCM believes it is important that further feedback to the revised plan be received from ALL areas and neighborhoods in the County. To that end, we would encourage all those with a vested interest in public education to engage at this time.
*When you register you will be able to indicate if you will attend virtually or in person. In-person attendees are welcome to arrive from 6:00 PM for light refreshments.
