The League is happy to announce our inaugural Voter Girl program with the Hornets Nest Girl Scout Council on Saturday March 9th. This is a program developed by the Kent Ohio LWV and we are bringing it to Charlotte. Wake LWV hosted this last April and it was a fun and engaging program for the Girl Scouts. We will be working with scouts from Daisy through Junior (K-8th grade). This is a nonpartisan program designed to help the Girl Scouts learn about voting, civic engagement and why folks run for office. We will have female elected officials come to talk to the girls, and the Board of Elections will run a mock election.
