What is this?
Join BKD members for a guided tour of the Charlotte History Museum and the 1774 Hezekiah Alexander House homesite. Spouses are welcome, too.
The Museum has seven galleries with permanent and temporary exhibits about more than 400 years of Charlotte history, including the story of the Siloam School building which was recently moved to the site. The school, named after Siloam Presbyterian Church, served Black students who lived in the rural neighborhood of Mallard Creek. It is being restored on the property but is not open to the public yet. Two temporary exhibits long-time Charlotteans may find interesting are "Hornets at 35," celebrating 35 years of the Charlotte Hornets, and "Captured in Cartoons", 200 years of Charlotte history told in editorial cartoons, caricatures and animation.
